Dance Co’s summer lab intensives are an in-depth exploration of dance styles. Dive deep into dance this summer! Open to intermediate and advanced dancers ages Primary to Senior (7-19), our summer lab intensives are a unique opportunity to refine your technique and explore your artistic potential as a dancer.

Tuition (per lab)
90 minute Lab Intensive $145
120 minute Lab Intensive $195

Build your own unique dance program this summer! Bundle your lab intensives Take any two and receive a 15% discount. Take all three and receive a 20% discount.

NEW FOR 2017: Choreography for Large and Small Group routines are to be set during Labs. Expand your repertoire this year with choreography by one of our astounding Guest & Regular Faculty Members! See below for more information per discipline.

All intensives will take place at our Arbutus location. All schedules are subject to change.

acroLab: July 17–21

Primary 6:00-7:30PM  |  Junior 4:00PM–6:00PM  |  Intermediate/Senior 1:30-3:30PM

Featuring Dance Co’s own faculty member Megan Green, acroLab includes workshop classes in Flexibility & Conditioning, Acrobatic Fundamentals, Tumbling, Tricks and Flips! With choreography from a surprise guest faculty member this workshop is one not to be missed!

Available to Intermediate and Advanced dancers, ages Primary-Senior.

jazzLab: July 31–August 4

Primary 4:00-5:30PM  |  Junior 1:30-3:30PM  |  Intermediate/Senior 11:00AM–1:00PM

Be fierce. Join Jaime Yakibow and the Dance Co Faculty this summer to increase your flexibility, master new jumps and turns, and pick up choreography faster in this brilliantly fun jazz intensive.

Available to Intermediate and Advanced dancers, ages Primary-Senior.

balletLab: July 17–21

Primary 4:00-5:30PM  |  Junior 1:30-3:30PM |  Intermediate/Senior 11:00AM-1:00PM

Take your ballet technique to new heights this summer with the talented Dance Co faculty, including master teacher Terri-Lynn Banfield. balletLab includes open class, build ups, Cecchetti exam, preparation, pointe preparation and/or pointe classes.

Available to Intermediate and Advanced dancers, ages Primary to Senior.

contemporaryLab: August 14–18

Primary 4:00-5:30PM  |  Junior 1:30-3:30PM  |  Intermediate/Senior 11:00AM-1:00PM

Explore contemporary movement with Dance Co’s guest instructors Charlene Dinger & Colleen Schnurr, alongside our resident faculty members! Gain a solid understanding of how to use your body as an instrument and a vehicle for expression through improvisation, floor work, and contemporary combinations.

Available to Intermediate and Advanced dancers, ages Primary to Senior.

streetLab: August 14–18

Primary 6:00-7:30PM  |  Junior 4:00-6:00PM  |  Intermediate/Senior 1:30-3:30PM

Share your love of Hip Hop culture with guest instructor Miha Matevzic, faculty member Jeri Chien, and more! Explore the FUNdamentals of Hip Hop, Popping, Locking, House, Street Dance and Breakdance!

Available to Intermediate and Advanced dancers, ages Primary to Senior; part of the Hip Hop curriculum for all Competition dancers.

tapLab: August 27–September 1

Junior 1:00-3:00pm  |  Intermediate/Senior 3:00-5:00pm
Tuition free for danceLab students; rehearsal, costume, and festival fees for Big Group Tap will still apply.

Get a head start on the year with Alexandra Clancy and DCO faculty members at tapLab! In addition to working on drills and improving your technical skills, Elite Tap Choreography will also be set during this time. Join us as we gear up for Fall 2017!

Available to Intermediate and Advanced dancers, ages Primary to Senior; part of the Tap curriculum for all Competition dancers.
