December 5th, 2016 at 8:00pm – PHD Self-Choreography Informance at Dance Co Arbutus

Come http://www.achaten-suisse.com/ out on December 5th to watch our PHD Class of 2016/17 demonstrate the choreography they have been developing over the course of the term! Friends, family, and prospective PHD students are all invited to attend this fabulous demonstration.

January 22nd, 2017 from 12:30-3:30pm – PHD Auditions at Dance Co Arbutus

Pull out those calendars – auditions for the Professional Half-Day program will be held at Dance Co Arbutus on January 22nd, 2017! Applicants outside of Vancouver may apply through video audition.

Any student wishing to dance at the Pro Half-Day level for the 2017/18 year must audition. Auditions are open to ALL students, including current Dance Co Competition dancers, recreational dancers, and future students new to Dance Co. students who are undecided on dancing in the Pro Half-Day Program should still attend auditions in order to keep their options open.

PHD auditions are held in the form of a master class at the Dance Co Arbutus studio. Dancers are not required to prepare their own routines in advance. Dancers will be asked to take class along with others of the same age, but perhaps different levels of dance ability. This audition will be comprised of Jazz, Ballet, and Contemporary. The schedule for this year’s audition is as follows:

12:30-1:30pm: Ballet
1:30-2:30pm: Contemporary
2:30-3:30pm: Jazz

Successful applicants may also be required to attend Spring Auditions for assessment in styles not seen during the January audition, as well as for pacement into Dance Co’s Intensive and COmpany teams. More information about these auditions will be released closer to the date.

Dancers are required to arrive early (minimum 30 minutes) to sign in and warm up. Dancers will receive name tags/numbers upon arrival. Dancers are required to wear a bun and a black bodysuit for Ballet, and a black bodysuit with black shorts/leggings for Jazz/Contemporary. Dance Co uniform is expected for current Dance Co students.

Please register for auditions as early as possible with the Dance Co office. Early pre-registration allows us to be more organized, making us just as prepared to see you dance, as you are to audition for us!

Please submit the below audition application form to the Dance Co office prior to auditions. Forms can be submitted via email or in-person.
