Lauren Butterfield

Lauren began dancing recreationally at the age of 9 at Dance Co. She immediately fell in love with dance and later in 2018, joined Dance Co's company program training in jazz, ballet, acro, lyrical, contemporary, modern and stage. Throughout her time in Dance Co's company program, she completed several Cecchetti ballet exams and attended many competitions, workshops and masterclasses. During Lauren's last years at Dance Co, she had the opportunity to assist camps and classes. This allowed Lauren to learn from her teachers and take away important lessons for her future in teaching.

Dance Co became such a comfortable place for Lauren that transitioning from student to teacher was no problem. Lauren graduated from Dance Co's Senior Company Elite program in 2022.

Lauren began her post-secondary education at Simon Fraser University in the fall of 2022 in their dance program, where she trains mainly in contemporary, ballet and modern. She also has the opportunity to learn about other styles and cultures of dance through masterclasses. Lauren is very passionate about dance and is excited to spread her knowledge to her students. She hopes that her students will grow to love and appreciate dance in their own way, just like she did.
