Nicolas Ventura

Born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Nicolas began his artistic development through a multidisciplinary approach of weekly acting, music and dance classes. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in the United Kingdom, followed by his career in dance beginning in Israel. Nicolas is a former dancer of the internationally renowned ensemble Batsheva Dance Company where he performed acclaimed works under artistic direction of Ohad Naharin.

Since 2015, Nicolas has worked as a dancer and/or rehearsal director alongside creative forces such as Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal, Roy Assaf, Medhi Walerski, Crystal Pite, Imre and Marne Van Opstal, Shahar Binyamini, Idan Sharabi, David Raymond & Tiffany Tregarthen (OIS), Jiri Pokorny, Felix Landerer, Noa Zuk & Ohad Fishof, Talia Beck etc.

Nicolas is currently based out of Vancouver, Canada, where he has acted as Rehearsal Director for Ballet BC since season 2021-22, alongside choreographing and teaching for pre-profesional organizations Modus Operandi, Arts Umbrella and Lamondance.

As a choreographer, Nicolas has created original choreographic works on dance companies, television shows, music videos and collaborative projects. He has also constructed short choreographic works for young artists, currently attending conservatories/universities such as The Juilliard School.

In 2018, Nicolas co-founded the artistic apparatus Addo Platform Canada Inc. which focuses on supporting and enriching communities by hosting movement and dance events that bring together local artists and international commuters for classes, workshops, performances, exhibitions and more. Addo Platform has collaborated with educational programs and universities such as Simon Fraser University, Canada’s National Ballet School, the Toronto Dance Theatre and more.

As an educator, Nicolas travels the world leading classes and workshops for professional and pre-professional dance artists in the dance industry.
